Gallaudet University is the gold standard for online ASL college courses. Many community colleges also offer them, but I highly recommend you ensure they are taught by Deaf instructors. Start ASL in a more affordable online option with Deaf instructors. 

True Biz by Sara Novic, Deaf Utopia by Nyle DiMarco and Late to the Party by Valerie James Abbott for adult reads. Give Me a Sign by Anna Sortino and Show Me a Sign by Ann Clare LeZotte. Hopefully my novel one day. 

My favorite ASL app is Lingvano. Think Duolingo but with ASL, and all the teachers are Deaf, so your money is supporting the Deaf community.

If you have a deaf/deafblind/hard of hearing child, I recommend joining American Society of Deaf Children (ASDC), which also offers ASL classes, workshops and events. Your state's Hands & Voices chapter is another great resource for events for DDBHH children (such as Michigan Hands & Voices). 

Learn ASL from Deaf teachers/mentors. You can find several online, especially through Instagram. Such a Lovely Red and ASL Pinnacle are two I recommend.
